INTRODUCTION
December 8,2024

Good good morning brothers and sisters in Christ. We are now in the 2nd Sunday of Advent. In this Eucharistic celebration, let us offer to the Lord our thanksgiving for the 65 years of being a community of faith as we celebrate our 65th Parochial Fiesta with our Patroness, the Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

The first reading is taken from the Book of the prophet Baruch. In this account, he addressed the words of hope to the people in Jerusalem.

The second reading is taken from the Letter of Paul to the Philippians. In this account, St. Paul wrote the memorable hymn of thanks and the petitions.

The Gospel is from the Holy Gospel according to St.Luke. It is stated in this account John the Baptist's message of repentance and forgiveness, and how the world will be saved through the coming of the Messiah.

With joyful hearts, let us all stand to begin the EucharisticCelebration.

Responsorial Psalm:
The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with joy.

Prayer of the Faithful:
Almighty God, graciously hear us.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
December 8, 2024

Priest: As we continue in our Advent pilgrimage, we become ever more aware of the need to make our hope become active and transformative in our personal and communal lives. Let us lift our prayer to the Father as we implore:

ALMIGHTY GOD, GRACIOUSLY HEAR US.

1. That the Church leaders specially Pope Francis, bishops and priests, and deacons, like John the Baptist, may they successfully dispose the hearts of people to welcome the Lord through their teaching and good example. Let us pray to the Lord.

2. That the civil leaders who lead and govern our nation, through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception, they may strengthen in faith and understanding as they serve the people. Let us pray to the Lord.

3. That the homeless, the poor, victims of injustices and the forgotten, through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception, they may be blessed with the hearts of recognizing in them and in others the person of Christ. Let us pray to the Lord.

4. That as we prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception, may be with us on our synodal pathway, inspiring us with wisdom, tolerance and love. Let us pray to the Lord.

5. That our parish community, through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception may be guided and enlightened by the Holy Spirit as we continue to be the heralds of Christ's coming. Let us pray to the Lord.

6. That our brothers and sisters who thank and praise God, especially through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception, they may live the life of being "the Mother to the Children", and feeds the hungry by sharing the graces they received. Let us pray to the Lord.

7. That those who died especially _ and the founders of our Parish; the PME Fathers, diocesan priests and lay people, will enjoy eternal peace in the presence of God. Let us pray to the Lord.

Priest: Almighty Father, through the intercession of Mary the Immaculate Conception, receive our prayers and save us from sin through Christ our Lord. Amen.
